Minimum content for end of year exams

Here is the minimum content for the end of term CCSS exam in case you have lost the sheet I gave you in class or want to check it online. Make sure you revise all points and good luck!

Summative BCD task

You live in Spain during the Middle Ages and you are excited/frightened/nervous enthusiastic/worried about new events / ideas which are happening around you and decide to write your feelings down in your diary/in a letter.
Read the following situations/events below. Choose one of the topics and you will investigate this during your free time as homework. You will prepare and write your diary information/letter at home. Remember to use various sources (library books, encyclopedia, internet etc.). You will present your diary/ letter to the rest of the class during class time. You can include pictures, maps etc. on the digital board to support your information. Investigate interesting and relevant facts about events, people, dates related to this topic etc.

This is an individual summative task

Choose one of the following situations: investigate this subject and explain what life is like for you living in this moment of time:

1. You are a little boy/girl living in Al Andalus,tell us about advances in science and technology.(maths/paper-making/chess/astronomy)
2.  You are a little boy/girl living in Al Andalus, tell us about the influence of Arabic on the Spanish language.
3. You are a little boy/girl in Al Andalus, tell us about new crops/foods and new agricultural techniques.
4. You are a little boy/girl who lives in Al Andalus,tell us why Cordoba was  the most important city in Al Andalus.

Instructions
  Create a letter/diary (on paper)
  Task to be presented in class: May29th – 2nd June 2017.
  INDIVIDUAL TASK.
v  You bring in to class your letter, digital images and your bibliography (which you have prepared at home/library on a piece of paper).
   Remember, you can include information, maps and pictures that will help with your explanations.

v  Letter Minimum 150-180 words.
v  1 digital slide with images.
v  Include a bibliography/your sources.

  Your teacher will be assessing criteria: B C D.
  Remember to check your spelling and grammar carefully.
  Keep numbers approximate (e.g. about 3,000 kilos, not 3,148 kilos)
  Keep your English simple but correct! Use titles, sub-titles, underline key words to organize your work.

  Do not copy huge chunks from Internet, E.g. copy and paste. This is PLAGIARISM, the internet is to guide and help you, but you have to do the work in your own words.
